The San Diego visitor industry is the third largest industry in San Diego County, employing approximately 152,300 San Diegans. It is one of the top five leisure vacation destinations in the U.S. and a top 10 business destination as measured by visitor-days. Visitors spend $7 billion annually at thousands of businesses in the County. This equates to $16 Billion in economic impact for the region, and thus a very important piece of the economic health of the region.
Travoza enhances San Diego visitor’s experience by providing high quality multimedia entertaining content. It extends the boundaries of San Diego as a tourist destination by providing the stories not only about well-known attractions, but also about local sites, making them significant.
The application shows the current GPS location on the interactive map along with flags representing points of interest. When a traveler is around one of the marked points, the application automatically pops up the multimedia presentation and stars audio telling about the site. The application can be applied when the traveler is driving the car as well as walking through the city.
Travoza also brings San Diego experience to virtual visitors, who can review the presentation of the San Diego attractions being far away from the city. In order to start the presentation they can simply tap a marked point on the map.
After the app contest is over we plan to implement a business model based on advertisement. Location based advertisement will benefit local San Diego businesses and increase their revenue.

Super awesome app. Used the Prague version of it while was in the city by myself - it allowed me to walk around freely around the city without missing anything interesting. Hoping to see that hometown San Diego will be covered as well.
Genius! Of course, the development piece is the hard part. I wonder if crowd sourcing that part is possible?

Your fantsatic sound effects and music make it feel like you're standing down on the beach instead of driving a car. I can't believe how you were able to mix the sounds of the waves, seals, seagulls and even the kids playing at the aquarium.
